About Me
I'm a mom who's been "just a mom" for a bit too long. I want to feel those emotions again, for, and from a special guy.
In the mean time though, making a new friend or two isn't out of the question.
Well, in the winter, SUNSHINE sends me soaring, and I'd be happy just to be outdoors walking or shovelling, breathing in the fresh air. When the sun is hiding, that's when I'd rather be in by the fire, reading a book or paper or magazine or watching a foreign film (prefer subtitles to dubbing).
I love music--jazz, classical (live) current EZ and rock, classic rock, especially 80's Alternative. Went to an opera once and thoroughly loved it, but haven't got my "season tickets", so don't worry if it's not up your alley. Enjoy Canadian TV, and prefer it to many US shows/sitcoms, although do like Amazing Race!
Enjoy taking my son to tractor pulls, snowmobile racing, demolition derbies and monster truck shows. We've also done some camping though we're new to it, and I must say, I do prefer having a flushing toilet to using a tree and leaves!
Travelling, I have a yearn to see new things, and I know Ontario and Canada and N America have much to offer. We often jump into the car on the weekend, just to see where we can go (and return) in a day. Love travelling abroad too, experiencing the different cultures.
The guy I'm looking for is independent like I am, knows how to use the washing machine and cleans the whiskers out of the basin and puts his dishes into the dishwasher--but he doesn't mind dust on the shelves--he'd rather be out LIVING than fussing!
He enjoys family like I do, getting together visiting relatives on more than just the requisite holidays. Maybe he has a child/children? I have an 11 yr old son, so certainly this man is comfortable around children.
He loves life, and has an odd sense of humour. He's soft spoken but not shy, gentle but not a wimp :). He's genuine and trustworthy and he has melting eyes.
First Date
First dates, well, are all about first impressions, good conversation and fun times. That said, I'd like to go somewhere where I can chat freely (not be drowned out by too loud music or overheard by others). Maybe some location with something else happening, to add to the conversation if nerves get the better of us--like the local zoo, or a stroll along the waterfront/kite flying, or even trying a meal in a restaurant which is unfamiliar to both of us (Mongolian anyone?)
