 | After trying many other web sites like E Harmony, Yahoo, match, I tried Plenty of Fish. I had my new profile up for 2 days when my Wife Jennifer found my profile on your home page. She followed the link and contacted me via your instant messenger service. We talked that night and she offered me her number, I then called her that night and we spoke. On February 2nd 2006 we met for the first time after a few days of phone and email. We hit it off. We both wanted to settle down and get married so in May we set a date to get married. We married August 12th 2006 and went on our honeymoon cruise. We are now very very happy, I am the funny outgoing person she wanted, I keep her laughing, and she keeps me laughing as well. We are now expecting a child and will have a baby girl in May 2007. We both work from home as film editors for everything from weddings to TV shows in our new home south of Fort Worth Texas. |
 | I had come on Pof site about 1 1/2 yrs ago.. would chat to a lot of people and met men on coffee dates,, I had gone to my first pof dance in london and took my son with me a big fellow he was and I believe that most guys stayed away because of the size he was,,lol,, my next outing was a bonfire bbq of which i was contacted by zena to thank me for signing up because we were some what close in age ,, we started talking and have be come good friends,, I did show up this time bringing my daughter,,lol and I made the point of going around to everyone and introducing myself ,, and I gave everyone a smiley face sticker because I always say keep smiling,, people always asked for the stickers and that was my popularity... but still not meeting mr right,, but had met a lot of nice people and had fun,, dec/05 i had sent a message to this guy in woodstock ,, and the two of us sent emails back and forth,, yes it was doug... we did this for a few weeks but then he went to australia to visit with his daughter ,, who at the time goes to school there,, he came back on for a couple of weeks and I kept sending emails trying to get him to come out to our weekly coffee nights,, but no show,, then he went over seas for two weeks for his job,, and then he showed up back on here again,, this time i sent a email ,, saying I wanted to meet for coffee and he said not as a group so I said ok time and place ,, so we did we met on a wed nite at williams coffee pub,, a exciting night of laughter and stories as thou we had been friends for a long time,, we were interested in each other ,, so the next night I had hockey tickets and a bunch of pof people were going , so doug came along,, after that we have been together everyday since,, whether it was in person or on the phone or him dropping by my work,, we both have children and I have two grandson's and we have become very close,, I could not ask for a more special person than Doug,, he is my friend my soulmate and so much more,, He treats me like a queen ,, so everyone dreams do come true there is a prince for us all,, sometimes it just takes longer than some people,, my heart is full of warmth and laughter,, this pof site is the best ,, all we can do is thank everyone ... good luck and keep smiling ,, hugs Doug and Janie |
 | I have tried many diffrent websites trying to find anyone who was interesting and could make me happy. It seemed that there would be no chance to find anyone worth a moment of my time online. After telling people that I worked with that I was just going to give up and forget about trying to find that special someone a lady at work told me about Plenty Of Fish. I thought theres no way I,m going to find anyone on a site that is free and has a name like that but after 2 weeks I finally gave in. I searched for a while and was finding the same was true on POF as waas with the other sites. I had emailed Jeff (my fiance) once and told him that I thought he was a very intersting person. I waited for a while and gave up thinking he wasnt interested. After 3 months he finally returned my email and asked if I would like to meet him sometime. After meeting Jeff I knew I wouldnt be looking much longer and sure enough a few months later he proposed. |
 | Not sure about how trusting one can be on the internet my children convinced me to at least try since a computer was in between me and who ever I talked to. I had one who kept adding me and since he never talked to me I kept deleting him. Persistance I guess pays off.LOL I finally sent him a message if he wanted to talk not to be so shy, and he did.Right then and there we hit it off. We had so much in common but enough to still be ourselves.I can honestly say I have never felt the way I do now.I have never been happier and complete.After talking for sometime by phone and emails and MSN. He came up and not to shortly helped me move to another city which I had been in the process of doing before meeting him.It even made it better since I had found an apartment a month or so before even talking to him to find out he was living in the very next building.So not only had I met someone who was turning out to be more then a friend but he would be a neighbour to me in a new town.We are now at that point where we will be moving into together and have even discussed marriage.Both of us having children and each meeting the others .Both our sets of children get along so well and not only that but they are happy with who we are with.That was one of our greatest concerns put at ease.We are looking forward to a new begining , a new future together and with out expanded families which have supported us and support each other .I am glad that now I have the chance to thank someone for making it possible to be able to make it possible to meet people and and find that right one for you.Thank you POF .I wasn't the kind to be that out going but with what you have you have made our lives happier and I am more then positive you will continue to do so. thank you again so much. |
 | Evonne's words:July 2006 I was told of Plenty of fish looked into the site and did nothing at first. Then the end of July I put in an ad "Looking for one good fish". On August 1st i got six replies. I looked at them delted three of them and kept two. Their was one that looked very promising. I had to have eye surgery on the 2nd of August 2006 so had to write to the two men that i would not be back on for two weeks they could write me if they wanted too. After two weeks i got back on and David had written to me between four to five times a day sometimes short lines sometimes large. I wrote to him and he said when i would give him my phone number he would call me. I asked him for his first. He gave me his...i waited a few days didn't want to seem to eager to call right away when he gave it to me. I called and from that day on around the 17th of August we corresponded daily he call me from work on breaks, when he got home he call me and we talk before bed. FInally we decided we like to meet in person which we did the end of August. It was something I didn't think could ever really happen but in the movies only, it was" LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT" for David and Me. However David said it was "love after reading the ad the first time", for him. He stated he just knew it. We then started seeing each other more and he moved from his area nearer to me and we seen each other nearly every day. Then around the 6th of September 2006 we knew we wanted each other only. Happiness had fell upon us out of the sky, The prayers he said and the ones i said to our Lord came true he helped us to find someone by going to this site "Plenty of Fish". We had both been in other dating sites for years. He was divorced 24 yrs and myself 22yrs and in this amount of time both David and I had been in many dating sites and could not find an honest person let alone someone to love. In plenty of fish their seems to be alot more honest people in this site. On December 25th , 2006 David was here at my home with my children and we were unwrapping gifts he got down on one knee and asked " WILL YOU WERE THIS RING SINCE I LOVE YOU SO MUCH...all i could do was cry and cry...He gave me a yellow emerald surrounded with diamonds. We have no date set at this time but a wedding is in the future. All to "Plenty of fish "helping us to find the love of our lives. Thank you Marcus for developing this site for single people. David's side of this: One day i was looking for different dating sites and happen to come upon Plenty of fish. It said "why pay for something when this is free" That's when i happent to look at other ads and found some ladies to talk to but no connection, then I seen Evonne"s ad and i knew right away that she was the one for me by what she had said. She seemed to be a real person not one putting on airs. I had the feeling that she (evonne) was out looking for real love not just someone who could take care of her or want just material things or a fat wallet. And that it did't matter if a person was short or tall , fat or skinny she was looking just for someone to love. I am 5'3" and she is 5'7". Most ladies want tall men and not us shorter men and we need love too. However when I told Evonne yes i was shorter it didn't matter to her. She said "its what's inside that counts". When I talked to her the first time on the phone and did not know what she looked like i asked her to marry me . She laughed and said "are you kidding". I said Nope i am serious. She asked me why i was saying that when I did not even know what she looked like. I said I could not explain it to you it's just like God sent you to me, so I could love you. She told me she had not been on here long before she had her surgery and didn't know alot of this site but it seemed like an excellent site to be on and i have to agree Marcus you did a great job for this site. When I met her there was no doubt in my mind what i felt when i first read her ad was true, and what I felt when I talked to her on the phone was true. Right in front of me stood the most beautiful woman I ever seen and I told her so. Evonne was blushing. I told her I don't want no one else what do you feel. She said she felt the same way. And so we talked all the time on the phone all my breaks i called her at work and when I was home and finally I had to relocate and did so closer to her. Then we seen each other nearly every day. Now I have moved in with her and were as happy as we can be. She is my "best friend", someone i can talk to about anything and this is something that needs to be in any kind of an relationship being friends. I love Evonne very much and her me and it don't matter that I am shorter and she is taller what matters is what she said to me" it's whats in a person's heart that counts". If your looking for love or for friendship then on this site of "Plenty of fish" they have someone for everyone. Single people on this site if they would "look with their hearts" not only their "eyes" you would find true happiness and love. |
