 | After a disasterous marriage I moved back to Iowa to be close to my family. A friend of mine had met his wife on this site and told me to check it out. I posted my profile and it was a few weeks later Jon emailed me. It turns out that he had lived in my small home town several years earlier and we knew a lot of the same people. He drove from Omaha to Manson, Iowa just to meet me in person. The first day we spent together I felt like I had found the one that I'd waited my whole life for. I never thought that I would meet someone who would be everything to me. He's my best friend, my lover, and makes me feel safe. We have four children between us. Sarah and Brenden are almost 8 and Makenzi is 6 and Ashlyn is 5. Together we make one big family and I'm so happy because I've always wanted more children and these two girls really complete my life. |
 | Within a couple of days of joining POF, I saw Ben's profile. I sent him an e-mail telling him I thought his profile looked interesting and telling him a little bit about myself -- more than what was included in my profile. We e-mailed for a couple of days before exchaning yahoo instant messenger id's. We IM'd on yahoo for a couple of days before exchanging telephone numbers. We talked on the phone a couple of times before deciding to meet in person. I think it was our second date before either of us really knew how hooked we were. We had spent every possilbe moment together for about two months when Ben asked me to marry him. We were married about one month later. There is no doubt in my mind that God used POF as a tool to bring us together. Although Ben only lived about 50 miles away from me, I doubt our paths would have ever crossed except on POF. My thankfulness and gratitude toward POF for providing this service to us (for free!) is endless. Today, Ben and I are happily married and expecting a baby in just a few short months. |
 | We started talking back in Sept. 2005 through emails on plentoffish.com and shortly after afew emails we exchanged phone numbers. Our first conversation was short and sweet due to me being at work and him just getting off work. He told me to call him when I got off and i couldn't wait to talk to him so I called. We spoke for 17 hours on the phone straight, never a silent moment. I was shocked. Since talking that long on the phone we wanted to meet. I was still very nervous about the blind date but I felt, shoot I know everything about him why not meet. So we made a date that day and met. It didn't go like magic at first like I thought. We kept intouch for a few weeks after that and then we got a Hurrincane in S Florida were we lived and we had no power but both had children, and I got my power back first so he came and stayed with me for 2 weeks off and on. Still nothing but a WONDERFUL friendship was coming out of it. Then he called me on the phone and we were talking and he let those words come out " I love you " and me in shocked I hung up the phone. I didn't know how to respond. OOPS... a day later on Halloween he reached over and kissed me. My heart melting I knew this was my sole mate. We shortly moved in together and we have now moved to a new state together. He proposed to me in November 2006. I have never loved someone so much!! He makes everday a blessing.  | I had been on the site for 4 or 5 months personally and tried dating one guy other than my current mate in that time. We both had been through bad partners and despite our age we were both ready for the big commitment, no more of this short term fling business. I'm normally the type that never does long distance relationships, with my mate something told me I should make an exception. He never thought in a million years I'd give him the light of day because of his sight disability. He also has a 4 year old son from another relationship with autism and diabeities. I am not a shallow woman and I could never say no to him or his sons adorable faces. I knew our live wouldn't be filled with financial wealth and fancy luxeries, but we have a wealth much more valueable than that. We have real love and a strong connection despite our differences. Now we have even more riches with our baby on the way and we couldn't be happier. We will marry soon and our family will be complete, this was a gift worth waiting for and neither of us thought we'd find it on the internet of all places. |
 | I messaged him after reading his many posts on the forum, I wanted to get to know him better. We started talking daily for a month and decided it was time to meet. We did the long distance thing for about a month and a half but couldn't stand being apart so he made the move down here and we've been totally in love since. We're now happily engaged and will be married next year in Mexico. Thanks Plenty of Fish for introducing me to my future husband and the love of my life :) |
